Zusammenfassung

ALSO, a Silicon Valley electric mobility company, seeks a Staff Firmware Architecture Engineer, Propulsion and Battery, to lead platform-level firmware across vehicle products, including drivers, RTOS integration, and build infrastructure.

You will own end-to-end design, development, and testing of embedded software and tooling, and drive architectural decisions for the firmware platform and build systems that enable scalable deployment.

Qualifikationen

• BS or MS in CS, EE, or related field.
• 7+ years in firmware development, ideally safety-critical environments.
• Experience as Software Architect, with portable, maintainable, scalable code.
• Expert in C; familiarity with C++, Python, and bash scripting.
• Experience delivering software-enabled hardware products, including low-level firmware and debugging with embedded diagnostics tooling.
• Knowledge of control systems, EV powertrains, battery tech, and vehicle protocols (CAN, ADC).
• Familiarity with model-based design (MATLAB/Simulink) and RTOS platforms.
• Experience with static analysis, CI/CD, and test automation for software-enabled hardware.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Lead architectural discussions for hardware abstraction layers and board support packages.
• Support RTOS configuration, integration, and optimization.
• Design frameworks for telemetry, firmware updates, and health monitoring.
• Contribute to Bazel-based build infrastructure and CI/CD improvements.
• Define MCU selection, memory management, and platform APIs.
• Ensure boot time optimization and memory footprint reduction.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Test teams to integrate software across ECUs.
• Provide vehicle system integration support and ECU handshaking debugging.
• Drive firmware initiatives to ensure product quality and vehicle safety.
