Job summary

Google Boulder, CO, is seeking a Software Engineer Manager II for Firmware on Laptops and Tablets. You will lead a team of engineers, own project goals, and help define product strategy across embedded firmware efforts for ChromeOS devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience with embedded operating systems.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers across multiple teams and locations to deliver firmware features for ChromeOS devices.
• Define and implement firmware improvements, bootloaders, and embedded controller software.
• Collaborate with ODMs, OEMs, SOC vendors, and global internal teams to scale projects.
