Job summary

Bluesight in Austin, TX seeks a firmware engineer to own and evolve firmware across RFID devices, interfacing with a 10‑person engineering team and a hardware/RFID software group. You will maintain multiple language stacks and drive field support and documentation.

The role is 75% software, 25% hardware, hybrid in Austin with opportunities to influence device-control and performance‑sensitive code while collaborating across product and domain experts.

Qualifications

• Experience across firmware with multiple languages and hardware exposure.
• Ability to ramp into new stacks quickly and pick up unfamiliar languages.
• Strong collaboration with product and domain experts across teams.
• Excellent communication, proactive updates and blockers flagging.

Responsibilities

• Own firmware across RFID devices: maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Produce and maintain support documentation for field use.
• Contribute to codebase: create, review, and PRs across languages and frameworks.
• Grow expertise in RFID device-control platform and performance-sensitive code.
