Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Firmware Engineer to support US DoD and international programs. You will join an IPT creating firmware for FPGA/SOC/CPLD, with lab integration and system qualification work.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a STEM field and experience with C/C, HLS/UVM and FPGA tools. Onsite location in Largo, FL, with citizenship and security clearance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or STEM by start date.
  • Experience with C/C, HLS, or UVM.
  • Experience with programmable logic development tools (ISE, Vivado, Quartus II, Libero, Synplify).
  • Linux scripting experience (bash, make, Tcl, Python).
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

  • Generate firmware requirements based on system architecture.
  • Generate firmware documentation describing architecture.
  • Design HDL based digital circuits that are readable.
  • Build test benches to verify HDL designs.

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is hiring Firmware Engineers to support programs for our US military and various international customers, keeping the world safe from foreign threats. As a Firmware Engineer, you will be a member of an Integrated Program Team (IPT)) creating complex firmware solutions implemented in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), System on Chip (SOC), and Complex Programmable Logic Devices (CPLDs). Development activities may also include laboratory integration, test and evaluation, fault isolation of prototype hardware, and system qualification testing support.

What You Will Do:
  • Generate firmware requirements based on the system architecture
  • Generate firmware documentation that describes the firmware architecture
  • Design HDL based digital circuits that are structured and readable
  • Build test benches to verify/test the HDL based design
  • Generate constraints for target device
  • Create scripts to automate build, integration, and test activities
  • Verify target device functionality in laboratory environment
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience with C/C , HLS, or UVM
  • Experience with programmable logic development tools (e.g. ISE, Vivado, Quartus II, Libero, Synplify)
  • Linux scripting experience (bash shells, make files, Tcl, Python)
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Curriculum geared towards embedded systems
  • Previous co-op/internship/projects experience implementing and verifying firmware
  • Experience with source control (e.g. GIT, SVN, ClearCase)

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
