Job summary

RTX is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to develop FPGA designs for major vendors and device families. You will work on gigabit interfaces, RF/EO DSP, control loops, data links, and embedded processing, using VHDL/Verilog across Xilinx, Intel, Microchip, and Lattice devices.

You will collaborate with circuit card designers and systems engineers from requirements through production, ensuring timing and documentation are maintained throughout the design cycle in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM major obtained by start date.
• Demonstrated experience with digital design and VHDL or Verilog coding.
• Familiarity with Xilinx, Altera or Microsemi/Microchip FPGAs.

The Effector Digital Products (EDP) department develops electronics for our weapon system products. We engage at the outset of the weapon system development and follow our designs through deployment. Our products are deployed all over the world, from the ground to exoatmospheric environments and into space. We are responsible for the architecture, design, and documentation of deliverable FPGA embedded processing at Raytheon.

An Electrical Engineer I in the Effector Digital Products Department will develop FPGA designs for all major vendors and device families including: Xilinx, Intel, Microchip, and Lattice. Designs are implemented using VHDL and support the following type of applications: gigabit serial interfaces, Radio Frequency (RF) and Electro-Optical (EO) Digital Signal Processing (DSP), control loops, data links, embedded processing, and processor interfaces.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
• Demonstrated experience with digital design and VHDL or Verilog coding.
• Familiarity with Xilinx, Altera or Microsemi/Microchip FPGAs.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
• Familiarity with the Linux environment and commands.
• Expertise of Xilinx, Intel, Microchip or Lattice devices and tool flows.
• Expertise in FPGA timing constraints and timing closure
• Digital signal processing as applied to FPGA devices
• Knowledge of C programming and scripting languages such as Perl and Python.
• Knowledge of embedded systems design utilizing Microblaze, Nios, and ARM processors.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
