Job summary

RTX is seeking an Electrical Engineering position in McKinney, TX. The role focuses on EE design, analysis, and support for military programs, involving EO/IR, digital, analog, and FPGA/VHDL work within a multi‑discipline team.

The candidate will contribute to circuit design, verification, and troubleshooting while collaborating with production personnel to resolve issues and implement corrective actions. A DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field prior to start date.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance - required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience documenting test results and repair recommendations, testing and troubleshooting electrical circuits, reading drawings and schematics; understanding Ethernet, UDP and 1588 protocols
  • Working knowledge of EE lab equipment (Vector Network Analyzers, Power Meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, DMMs, signal sources)
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Matlab, LabVIEW, Keysight ADS, Genesys, PSPICE, Ansys HFSS, AutoCAD, Mentor Graphics Design Architect, Mentor Expedition Design & Analysis Tool Suite and/or DX Designer for PWB schematic capture

The Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) is an engineering organization that centers on product producibility and mission assurance. It is a vital link in the integrated product development process that allows our company to introduce reliable new products faster, better, and more economically.

An effective candidate for the Electrical Engineering position will participate in multi‑discipline teams supporting primarily military programs through application of EE resources and design processes. Chosen candidate will be a team member working on the design, analysis and support of electronics products.

What You Will Do:
  • EO/IR, digital, analog, sustaining and production electronics support, components engineering, and product development engineering

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) obtained prior to start date.

  • Proficiency in VHDL and Verilog
  • Experience with ModelSim / QuestaSim
  • Strong TCL scripting capability
  • Experience with FPGA toolchains (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with Git or equivalent version control systems
  • Experience with simulation‑based verification
  • Exposure to JIRA or similar issue tracking methodologies
  • Exposure to MATLAB/Simulink, including HDL generation workflows and integration into FPGA toolchains
  • Experience supporting integration and test activities in a lab environment

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
