Job summary

HumCap seeks an experienced Firmware/Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop firmware for electronic instrumentation products. The role focuses on real-time systems, signal processing, and embedded algorithms across low‑power ARM-based SoCs.

The candidate will work hands-on with bare-metal and RTOS (FreeRTOS), develop drivers, and ensure secure bootloaders and OTA updates while collaborating with hardware and systems engineers to meet stringent requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C.
• Hands-on experience with RTOS and bare-metal programming.
• Experience with ARM processors and embedded systems.
• Experience with DSP/signal-processing algorithms.
• Experience with Git and Bitbucket.
• Ability to read schematics and technical datasheets.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimize, and debug embedded firmware.
• Develop bare-metal/state-machine and RTOS-based systems, including FreeRTOS.
• Develop firmware for ARM Cortex-M0+ to Cortex-A15 multicore/DSP platforms.
• Develop device drivers for off-chip peripherals.
• Implement user interfaces, USB, and wireless protocols.
• Develop and support secure bootloaders and OTA updates.
• Test and troubleshoot using oscilloscopes, JTAG, and SWD debuggers.
• Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers to meet product requirements.
• Read and interpret schematics and datasheets.
• Follow safety, quality, ISO, and regulatory requirements.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimize, and debug embedded firmware.
• Develop both bare-metal/state-machine and RTOS-based systems, including FreeRTOS.
• Develop firmware for ARM processors ranging from Cortex-M0+ to Arm-A15 multicore/DSP platforms.
• Develop device drivers for off-chip peripherals.
• Implement user interfaces, USB, and wireless protocols.
• Develop and support secure bootloaders and OTA updates.
• Test and troubleshoot using oscilloscopes, JTAG, and SWD debuggers.
• Work closely with hardware and systems engineers to meet product requirements.
• Read and interpret schematics and datasheets.
• Follow applicable safety, quality, ISO, and regulatory requirements.
