Job summary

American IT Systems is seeking an experienced embedded firmware engineer in Redmond, WA. The role covers development from the Application Layer to HAL and involves hands-on hardware debugging and feature implementation for ARM Cortex‑M based systems.

You will work across software and hardware interfaces, leveraging Git and Azure DevOps, and you may explore UEFI, TrustZone, bootloaders, and BSPs. Proficiency in multiple languages including C/C++, Java, and Python is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in embedded firmware development with C/C++.
• Proficiency with ARM Cortex‑M MCUs and architecture.
• Experience from Application Layer to HAL.
• Hands-on hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, JTAG debuggers, I2C, SPI, and UART tools.
• Experience implementing features and debugging existing firmware functionality.
• Knowledge of UEFI, ARM TrustZone, Bootloaders, and BSPs is a plus.
• Understanding of SoC hardware/software architecture and device development lifecycle.
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps (ADO), CI/CD pipelines, and software release processes.
• Programming in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, and Python.

Key Requirements:

• Strong embedded firmware development experience using C/C++.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and ARM processor architecture.

• Experience implementing new features and debugging existing firmware functionality.
• Knowledge of UEFI, ARM TrustZone, Bootloaders, and BSPs is a plus.

Highly Preferred (Windows Ecosystem):

• Strong knowledge of Windows OS and device development.
• Experience with Windows Drivers, WDK, SDK, ADK, and HLK.
• Familiarity with Windows device validation, debugging, and deployment tools.
