Job summary

TechDoQuest in Redmond, WA is seeking an embedded firmware engineer to design and implement software across application to HAL layers, collaborating with hardware and validation teams. You will develop features, debug firmware, and optimize hardware interfaces while ensuring robust release processes.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on hardware debugging skills, experience with ARM Cortex-M, and familiarity with UEFI/TrustZone and BSPs.

Qualifications

• Strong embedded firmware experience in C/C++.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
• Development across Application Layer to HAL.
• Hands-on hardware debugging with oscilloscopes, JTAG, I2C, SPI, UART.
• Experience adding features and debugging existing firmware.
• Knowledge of UEFI, ARM TrustZone, bootloaders, and BSPs is a plus.
• Understanding of SoC HW/SW architecture and device lifecycle.
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware across application and hardware abstraction layers.
• Debug and validate firmware with on-board hardware tools.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and validation teams.
• Contribute to version control and release workflows.
• Evaluate and integrate UEFI/TrustZone features when applicable.

Location: Redmond, WA

Key Requirements:

• Strong embedded firmware development experience using C/C++.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and ARM processor architecture.
• Development across Application Layer to HAL.
• Hands-on hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, JTAG debuggers, I2C, SPI, and UART tools.
• Experience implementing new features and debugging existing firmware functionality.
• Knowledge of UEFI, ARM TrustZone, Bootloaders, and BSPs is a plus.
• Understanding of SoC Hardware/Software architecture and device development lifecycle.
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps (ADO), CI/CD pipelines, and software release processes.

Highly Preferred (Windows Ecosystem):

• Strong knowledge of Windows OS and device development.
• Experience with Windows Drivers, WDK, SDK, ADK, and HLK.
• Familiarity with Windows device validation, debugging, and deployment tools
