Job summary

Tech Mahindra is seeking a Firmware Development Engineer to design and implement embedded firmware for ARM Cortex-M based devices in Redmond, WA. You will work onsite from Day 1 and collaborate across the full software/hardware stack to deliver robust firmware features.

The role requires hands-on debugging, feature development, and close adherence to firmware release cycles using Git and Azure DevOps. Strong C/C++ skills and experience across the Application Layer to HAL are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong embedded firmware development experience using C/C++.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and ARM processor architecture.
• Development across Application Layer to HAL.
• Hands-on hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, JTAG debuggers, I2C, SPI, and UART tools.
• Experience implementing new features and debugging existing firmware functionality.
• Knowledge of UEFI, ARM TrustZone, Bootloaders, and BSPs is a plus.
• Understanding of SoC hardware/software architecture and device development lifecycle.
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps (ADO), CI/CD pipelines, and software release processes.
• Programming in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, and Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware across the application layer and HAL for embedded devices.
• Debug hardware issues using scopes, JTAG, I2C, SPI, and UART tools.
• Implement new features and diagnose existing firmware problems.
• Collaborate on build and release processes using Git and Azure DevOps.

Firmware development engineer

Location: Redmond, WA

Onsite/ Remote: Day 1 Onsite at customer location

Salary: $100k- $130k per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.

Benefits: medical, vision, dental, life, disability insurance and paid time off (including holidays, parental leave, and sick leave, as required by law).

Salary (Contract): $60/hr - $72/hr

Key Requirements:

• Strong embedded firmware development experience using C/C++.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and ARM processor architecture.

• Hands‑on hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, JTAG debuggers, I2C, SPI, and UART tools.
