Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cupertino, CA, is seeking a DevOps-minded Infrastructure Engineer to own the CI/CD platform for AMS firmware validation. You will extend pipelines from static analysis to hardware-in-the-loop testing and maintain self-hosted runners and toolchains.

You will onboard new silicon platforms, automate test stations, and drive triage tooling across firmware, simulators, and QA teams to improve release quality. This role emphasizes hands-on hardware lab work and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a technical discipline; minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• DevOps/infrastructure background with ownership of CI/CD pipelines and shared engineering infrastructure.
• Strong Python for CLI tooling, orchestration, and system integrations against APIs/webhooks/service accounts.
• Hands-on experience operating self-hosted CI/CD (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar) including pipeline design, runner administration, and debugging at infra level.
• Proficiency with Git and integrating disparate build/test/reporting services into one coherent pipeline.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to drive cross-team triage and keep stakeholders aligned.

Responsibilities

• Own and extend the CI/CD platform end-to-end — including static analysis, unit tests, simulator testing, coverage, and hardware-in-the-loop silicon testing.
• Operate and harden the self-hosted runner fleet and toolchains; manage SDK/compiler/simulator versions and the packaging/release flow.
• Onboard new silicon platforms into CI/CD; extend configs, build/test matrices, and hardware integration for fast testability.
• Grow the validation lab as a product; automate test stations and reduce one-off edits.
• Drive deep cross-stack triage and root-cause analysis across firmware toolchain, simulators, and silicon test; build triage tooling.
• Develop and maintain firmware test cases and tooling on development boards and shipping products; setup test-station hardware with firmware QA collaboration.
