Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cupertino, CA is seeking a Software Development Engineer for Developer Experience and Platform Tools to own platform qualification and test automation across internal compute platforms.

You will design release pipelines, automate evidence of readiness, and collaborate with SRE, hardware, and OS teams to scale services that power iCloud, Apple Music, and more. You’ll work across x86 and Apple Silicon, build robust tooling, and drive canaries, rollouts, and metrics for reliable

Qualifications

• Design, debug, and test complex software systems
• 3+ years of related software development experience
• Experience designing and building CI/CD systems, build/release pipelines, or developer tooling
• Experience with test automation at scale: designing test frameworks, managing test infrastructure
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent related experience
• Strong fundamentals of distributed systems, OS, and debugging at the OS/hardware boundary
• Familiarity with all aspects of software development from architecture to deployment
• Customer-focused thinking and strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication across time zones
• Enthusiasm about upholding Apple’s standards in product quality, design, and user experience

Responsibilities

• Own and develop our platform qualification and test automation service end to end
• Own CI/CD and release engineering for systems that power multiple compute platforms
• Drive software qualification for hardware and software releases on x86 and Apple Silicon
• Write and review code, generate and review design documentation
• Collaborate with SRE, hardware, OS, and platform teams to automate releases
