Excel Group is seeking a dedicated Firewatch/Janitor to maintain cleanliness and ensure safety standards at our Freeport facility in Texas. This role combines routine janitorial duties with firewatch responsibilities to keep the environment secure and well-maintained.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial or firewatch experience is a plus.
• Attention to detail and strong commitment to safety procedures.
• Able to use cleaning tools and fire safety equipment.
• Physically able to bend, lift, and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable, with effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work flexible and varied schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning of restrooms, common areas, and workspaces.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to keep areas hazard-free.
• Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly.
• Monitor for fire hazards during and after hot work activities.
• Remain alert in designated areas to detect smoke, sparks, or unusual heat.
• Sound alarms and alert emergency services as needed if fire is detected.
• Ensure fire safety equipment is available and functional.
• Report unsafe conditions or maintenance needs promptly.
• Assist with restocking cleaning and safety supplies.
• Follow all health, safety, and PPE requirements during job tasks.
