Job summary

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in fire protection, knowledge of NFPA-25, and the ability to read blueprints, troubleshoot systems, and train staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire protection, life safety systems, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA-25 and applicable local fire codes/regulations.
• Experience inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing commercial fire protection systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire protection and life safety systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on wet, dry, and pre-action sprinkler systems.
• Perform code-compliant inspections and various special inspections.

Job description

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a leading commercial real estate and property management organization in Fort Worth to identify an experienced Fire Safety Manager. This individual will be responsible for overseeing fire and life safety systems across a large commercial mixed‑use property portfolio, ensuring compliance with fire codes, regulatory requirements, and preventative maintenance standards.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with fire suppression systems, fire alarm systems, inspections, testing, maintenance, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a hands‑on leader who can troubleshoot system issues, perform inspections, coordinate repairs, and support overall life safety operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire protection and life safety systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on wet, dry, and pre‑action fire sprinkler systems.
• Perform code‑compliant inspections, progressive inspections, above‑ceiling inspections, and concealed space inspections.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local fire codes, and applicable regulations.
• Troubleshoot fire alarm systems, suppression systems, and associated low‑voltage life safety equipment.
• Coordinate and perform in‑house repairs, including replacement of sprinkler heads, alarm system components, and other fire protection equipment.
• Oversee testing and maintenance of fire pumps and related fire protection infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair documentation.
• Investigate system outages and coordinate safe shutdowns and restoration activities.
• Interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and fire protection system documentation.
• Partner with contractors, architects, and vendors on fire protection projects and system modifications.
• Conduct fire drills and support emergency response activities.
• Train staff on fire extinguisher use and fire safety procedures.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation and respond to emergency situations as needed.
• Support additional facilities and maintenance initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire protection, fire suppression, life safety systems, or a related field.
• Strong working knowledge of NFPA-25 and applicable local fire codes and regulations.
• Experience inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing commercial fire protection systems.
• Knowledge of fire alarm systems and their integration with suppression systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve system issues independently.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to meet applicable background screening requirements.

Preferred Certifications & Licenses

Candidates should possess at least one of the following Texas fire protection licenses:

• Type PL Planning (EPL)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment as required.
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and around operational mechanical equipment.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations and perform field inspections throughout large facilities.
