Job summary

Rosenbauer-America is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and test subsystems for firetrucks. You will transform concepts into functional prototypes and collaborate with cross-functional teams across manufacturing, service, and sales to deliver robust, compliant products.

The position requires a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) and 0–3 years of related experience, with preference for SolidWorks, CAD/PDM proficiency, and an understanding of heavy truck systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
• 0-3 years of related mechanical engineering experience required.
• Experience with heavy truck/automotive systems preferred.
• Experience with CAD and PDM systems preferred.
• SolidWorks experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and test subsystems for firetrucks.
• Create and maintain detail drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Service, and Sales teams.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory standards (FMVSS/SAE/NFPA).
• Analyze field issues and drive corrective actions per QMS.
