Job summary

Chaparral Company is seeking a skilled worker to install caulking at penetrations and joints, and to inspect the work for UL Design compliance. The role requires ability to read blueprints and life safety drawings, with occasional travel to job sites, including overnight trips.

A high school diploma or GED is required, or 1–3 months related experience. Physical work involves lifting up to 15 pounds regularly, climbing/stooping as needed, and working from lifts or scaffolds.

Job description

• Installs caulking at Penetrations and Joints using a bulk caulk gun, pulling product out of buckets, using ‘sausage’ packs, or standard tubes.
• Inspect their work to ensure installation was done per UL Design.
• Ability to read blue prints/life safety drawings.
• Access to Penetrations and Joints may require use of boom lifts, scissor lifts, swing stage, scaffolds, and ladders.
• Duties of this job will require employee to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; as well as climb or balance and talk or hear.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Past firestop experience preferred
• Must have form of dependable transportation; must be able to travel out of town, both on overnight and one day trips
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
