Job summary

Chaparral Company is seeking a physically capable caulking installer to join our field team. You will install firestop caulking at penetrations and joints, inspect work for UL Design compliance, and read blueprints and life-safety drawings.

Access to elevated work areas may require using boom lifts, scaffolds, or ladders; lifting up to 15 pounds is routine. Preferred candidates hold OSHA 10/30 certification and have prior firestop experience; willingness to travel on short notice is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and life-safety drawings.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
• Firestop experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install caulking at penetrations and joints using bulk caulk gun, sausage packs, or standard tubes.
• Inspect completed work to ensure installation meets UL Design requirements.
• Read blueprints/life safety drawings to ensure proper application.
• Access elevated work areas using boom lifts, scissor lifts, swing stages, scaffolds, or ladders.
• Lift and move up to 15 pounds regularly as part of duties.

Job description

• Installs caulking at Penetrations and Joints using a bulk caulk gun, pulling product out of buckets, using ‘sausage’ packs, or standard tubes.
• Inspect their work to ensure installation was done per UL Design.
• Ability to read blue prints/life safety drawings.
• Access to Penetrations and Joints may require use of boom lifts, scissor lifts, swing stage, scaffolds, and ladders.
• Duties of this job will require employee to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; as well as climb or balance and talk or hear.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Past firestop experience preferred
• Must have form of dependable transportation; must be able to travel out of town, both on overnight and one day trips
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
