Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has an immediate Fires Systems Engineer opportunity to support the Worldwide Field Support contract. The role focuses on AFATDS installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance, with emphasis on system reliability and operator training.

Requires a BA/BS, 3+ years of experience, Active Secret Clearance, Security+ CE, and US citizenship. Travel is limited and the position sits onsite, with international work location considerations.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Windows 10+ system administration.
• Windows Server 2012+ administration.
• Networking fundamentals.
• AFATDS hardware, software, operations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, and maintain AFATDS operating systems, application software, and system tools.
• Initialize, configure, and troubleshoot software interfaces.
• Monitor and manage all installed systems, networks and infrastructure for optimal performance.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and resilience of system and network infrastructure.
• Evaluate performance, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with developers on fixes.
• Maintain system security, backups, and redundancy strategies.
• Mentor artillery operators and provide training as needed.
• Assist Army units in planning and executing exercises.
