Godby Hearth & Home is seeking a highly motivated individual to service gas and wood-burning hearth products. We utilize manufacturer specifications, architectural drawings, and safety manuals to guide our work. This is a full-time, year-round position with optional overtime during the busy season.

We are a small company of less than 30 employees, established as a destination for high-quality products and services in the residential construction industry. We are committed to fostering an inclusive culture where employees feel welcomed and valued.

What’s in it for you?

• Pay rate of $20 - $25 per hour, based on experience.
• Work hours are from 7:30 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday (45 hours per week). Some weekends may be available during the busy season for overtime.

Responsibilities

• Service fireplace systems according to Godby standards, manufacturer specifications, and local codes.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair fireplace systems to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Review instruction manuals and maintain knowledge of installed products.
• Support retail showroom maintenance and display updates.
• Install, set up, and repair commercial and residential gas grills, log sets, and firepits.
• Follow OSHA guidelines and safety procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Ability to lift 75+ lbs individually, with some tasks requiring team lifting of over 200 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and effective time management skills.
• General mechanical aptitude, including proficiency with power and hand tools.
• Understanding of gas and electrical connections is helpful but not required.
• Basic knowledge of gas or LP valves, electrical switches, fans, remote controls, & ignition systems.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Critical thinking skills for troubleshooting jobsite issues.
• Valid driver’s license with no DUI record (insurance requirement).
