Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• TCFP basic firefighter certification and EMR certification; Texas Class B driver license within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Responds to fire, hazardous materials, and technical rescue incidents.
• Lays and connects hose, directs water streams, climbs ladders, uses extinguishers and tools at fire scenes.
• Conducts fire suppression, enters buildings, rescues victims, and overhauls scenes for investigation.
• Maintains facilities, apparatus, and equipment; reports problems to command staff.
• Participates in fire prevention activities, including pre-fire planning and inspections.
