Job summary

Harris County Emergency Services District No 24 seeks a dedicated Firefighter to protect lives and property by responding to emergencies, including fires, accidents, and other hazards. You will perform fire suppression, rescue operations, and EMT-B level care while participating in ongoing training and safety initiatives.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, coordinating with partner agencies, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• TCFP – Basic Structure Firefighter Certification is required.
• NIMS 100, 200, 700, & 800 certifications are required.
• TDSHS EMT-B certification is required.
• High School Diploma is required.
• Current State of Texas Class B driver's license is required.
• Courage to be Safe training certification is required.
• Cancer Awareness training certification is required.
• TIM Responder training certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to fire alarms and other emergency calls.
• Perform fire suppression, control, and extinguishment activities.
• Conduct rescue operations to save lives.
• Provide EMT-B level medical care during incidents.
• Participate in regular training and drills to maintain readiness.
• Operate and maintain firefighting equipment and apparatus.
• Collaborate with other emergency services personnel during incidents.
• Engage in community fire safety education and outreach.
• Maintain records and reports of incidents, training, and equipment maintenance.
• Follow all safety regulations and protocols.
