Qualifications

  • TCFP – Basic Structure Firefighter Certification is required.
  • NIMS 100, 200, 700, & 800 certifications are required.
  • TDSHS EMT-B certification is required.
  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Current State of Texas Class B driver's license is required.
  • Courage to be Safe training certification is required.
  • Cancer Awareness training certification is required.
  • TIM Responder training certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to fire alarms and other emergency calls.
  • Perform fire suppression, control, and extinguishment activities.
  • Conduct rescue operations to save lives.
  • Provide EMT-B level medical care during incidents.
  • Participate in regular training and drills to maintain readiness.

## Description**Job Purpose**: The primary purpose of the Firefighter position at Harris County Emergency Services District No 24 is to protect lives and property by responding to emergency situations, including fires, accidents, and other incidents where risks are posed to life and property.
