Job summary

The City of Vallejo Fire Department is recruiting Firefighter/Paramedics to join a service-oriented team serving Vallejo, CA. Recruits will attend a fire training academy and progress to a 56.3-hour work week after graduation, supporting both fire suppression and EMS responses.

Applicants must hold CPR, CPAT, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, PHTLS/BTLS/ITLS, and EMT-Paramedic credentials, with a California Driver's License (Firefighter endorsement) required for employment.

Qualifications

• Completion of Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC) eligibility and CPR/paramedic certifications.
• Requires EMT-Paramedic license or eligibility and ongoing certification updates.

Responsibilities

• Respond to alarms and assist in fire suppression and rescue operations.
• Perform cleanup, overhaul, and maintenance of apparatus and equipment.
• Inspect buildings to identify fire hazards and educate the public on fire prevention.
• Participate in ongoing training and drills; may act as relief Fire Captain or Engineer as assigned.
