Qualifications

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade, supplemented by Paramedic training.
Possession of a Fire Fighter I certification or completion of an approved Basic Firefighter I Academy.
Possession of Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations certification; EMT-Paramedic license required.

Responsibilities

Responds to fire alarms, delivers equipment and supports fire suppression and rescue operations.
Responds to emergency medical calls and provides advanced emergency medical procedures and care.
Operates within command structure and follows orders during life-threatening incidents.
Maintains apparatus, equipment, and records; participates in public safety and fire prevention activities.
