The City of Livonia is seeking a Firefighter/Paramedic to respond to emergencies, perform pre-hospital care, and engage in fire suppression and rescue operations. Candidates must hold or be eligible for Michigan Firefighter II certification and EMT/Paramedic credentials, with enrollment in a recognized paramedic program.

Competitive annual salary ($55,640) with potential adjustments via collective bargaining, comprehensive benefits, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s/Associate in Fire Science or EMS preferred.
• State of Michigan Firefighter II Certificate or equivalent.
• Current EMT/Paramedic credentials or eligible for Michigan licensure.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited paramedic program and pass required tests.

Responsabilités

• Respond to emergencies with fire suppression and medical care.
• Perform pre-hospital care, rescue, and damage control.
• Operate equipment and ladders; ventilate buildings and extinguish fires.
• Provide direct patient care per SOPs and protocols.
• Maintain apparatus and perform routine station duties.
• Attend in-service training and participate in QA programs.
