Job summary

City of Lansing seeks fully-certified Firefighter/Paramedics to join the Fire Department and advance through the academy. The role combines advanced EMS with firefighting, equipment maintenance, and community protection duties.

Applicants must hold Firefighter II and a Paramedic license, and be eligible to work in the United States. Selected candidates will begin with academy work and are eligible for ambulance pay incentives.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Current Paramedic license required, along with Michigan Firefighter II.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record; U.S. work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical incidents driving ambulance or fire apparatus.
• Maintain ambulance readiness and comply with department policies.
• Perform EMS at scenes and participate in fire suppression as directed.
• Attend training, pre-fire planning, and inspections as needed.
