Qualifications

• Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Firefighter/Paramedic; or enrolled in Paramedic School within six months of graduation; or Certified Paramedic.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License and be able to obtain Texas Class B license within department time.
• Clean driving record: no more than three moving violations or preventable accidents in past 36 months.
• No DWI/DUI within ten years; eligible after ten years at Fire Chief's discretion.
• No felony or crimes of moral turpitude; no class B misdemeanor or above within past five years (ten for DWI/DUI).
• No family assault/domestic violence class C misdemeanors within past three years.
• No active indictments or outstanding warrants.
• No illegal drug use in past 24 months; no misuse of prescription medications in past two years.
