Job summary

City of Denison seeks a Firefighter/EMT to respond to fires and medical emergencies, provide patient care, and maintain equipment. You will work under the Fire Chief's guidance and participate in ongoing training to keep up essential certifications.

The role involves community education on fire safety, inspections support, and strict adherence to SOPs. A valid Texas driver’s license and physical agility are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ages 18–36 at the written exam.
• Firefighter/EMT or Paramedic certification required to take the civil service exam.
• Must pass written, oral boards and physical agility exams.
• Valid driver’s license required and driving record must be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire and emergency calls and perform suppression activities.
• Provide emergency medical services and patient transport as needed.
• Maintain firefighting and paramedic equipment and station cleanliness.
• Educate the community on fire safety and first aid procedures.
• Assist in fire inspections and complete required documentation.
• Maintain current certifications through continuing education.
