Job summary

The City of Sanford is seeking a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic to respond to fire alarms and medical calls, manage scenes, and provide lifesaving care in Seminole County.

This role commands emergency scenes, administers first aid including CPR, and trains entry-level personnel while adhering to city policies.

Applicants must have Florida Firefighters II, Paramedic certification, CPR, driver's license, CPAT and Fire Team scores, plus a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Current Florida Firefighters II Certification or equivalent.
• Current Florida Paramedic Certification is required.
• CPR Certification is mandatory.
• Valid Florida Driver's License is required.
• CPAT and Fire Team scores must be within 1 year of posting.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire alarms and emergency medical calls.
• Administer medical care including CPR and monitoring vital signs.
• Manage emergency scenes until relieved by a supervisor.
• Train entry-level personnel and follow department policies.
• Operate and maintain fire rescue vehicles and equipment.
