Job summary

City of Keller Fire Department is seeking experienced Firefighter/Paramedics or Paramedics for lateral entry. Applicants must hold Paramedic certification and Firefighter certification, or be within three months of Paramedic certification with proof of enrollment.

Fire Rescue roles involve fire suppression, EMS, and rescue duties on a 48/96 schedule. The hiring process includes written tests, physical agility, panel interviews, and a Fire Chief interview.

Qualifications

• Certification as Paramedic and Firefighter in Texas is required or imminent.
• Paramedic certification within three months is acceptable with enrollment proof.
• Prior combined Paramedic and Firefighter credentials are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer and manage fire, rescue, and medical emergencies.
• Perform basic firefighting tasks and patient care as needed.
• Drive and operate fire apparatus and ambulances.
• Maintain and upgrade certifications; complete reports and records.

Education

Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic certification or license

Texas Commission on Fire Protection Firefighter certification

High school diploma or G.E.D.
