Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years or older at start date.
• Must obtain a Kansas Class B CDL within one year from start date of employment.
• National Registry or Kansas Paramedic certification.

Responsibilities

• Responds to fire alarms and EMS emergencies with a pumper, ambulance, and ladder or rescue company.
• Performs rescue activities using equipment and ventilation, transfers patients to hospital.
• Provides Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support care and participates in EMS drills and training.
• Performs assessments and establishes priorities for treatment of multiple emergency victims.
• Attends classes in firefighting, emergency medical care, rescue, and related subjects; assists training of new paramedics.
• Maintains records, prepares data, and completes patient and billing forms.
