Job summary

City of Salina Police Department is seeking dedicated Police Officers to join a team built on public safety, accountability, and community trust. You’ll patrol, investigate crimes, and enforce laws while engaging with the community and partner agencies.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen
  • At least 21 years old by start date
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Kansas driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain Kansas Police Officer certification within one year
  • No felony, domestic violence-related, or other serious misdemeanor convictions
  • No tobacco use on or off the job

Responsibilities

  • Patrol assigned areas and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls
  • Investigate crimes, collect evidence, make arrests, and prepare reports
  • Enforce traffic and criminal laws and maintain peace and order
  • Testify in court and work closely with community members and partner agencies
  • Use modern policing tools, including body-worn cameras, mobile data terminals, crime analysis tools, and real-time crime center resources

Pay & Benefits
  • $27.76-$29.15/hour ($57,741-$60,632 annually)
  • $1.50/hour shift differential for hours worked after 6:00 p.m. and before 6:00 a.m.
  • 96 hours of vacation in the first year
