Job summary

Hesston Fire/EMS is seeking a full-time Paramedic. The role offers an occupied schedule of 24 hours on and 24 hours off, with a Monday/Wednesday/Friday pattern in week one and Tuesday/Thursday in week two, on a weekday basis.

Starting salary is $57,000 annually with overtime, excellent benefits including 90% paid health, dental and vision for single/family coverage, KPERS retirement, paid vacation, sick leave, holiday pay, and a $60/month phone stipend. KEMSA membership is included.

Hesston Fire/EMS is accepting applications for the position of full-time Paramedic. Full-time employees do not have a residency requirement; however, preference will be given to those living in or near Hesston.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license and Kansas Paramedic certification at the time of hire. National Firefighter I and II certification is preferred. Candidates must pass a background check and a department physical assessment.

Operating Schedule

This position will work weekdays, 24 hours on and 24 hours off, following a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule on week one and Tuesday, Thursday on week two.

Service Summary

Department responses include approximately 700 EMS and 200 Fire requests for service per year. Hesston is located 35 miles north of Wichita and 50 miles south of Salina along the I-135 corridor. Hesston Fire/EMS is a progressive combination department that provides EMS and fire/rescue services to a population of approximately 5,000 in over 75 square miles of Harvey and McPherson Counties.
