Job summary

The City of Georgetown, TX is recruiting to establish an eligibility list for the Civil Service position of Firefighter/Paramedic. Duties include responding to fires, EMS and rescue alarms, maintaining equipment, and public education.

Exams are scheduled for Oct 3 and Oct 10, 2026, with applications due by Oct 7, 2026. Starting salary is $80,888 annually with additional Paramedic pay of $6,400 per year; lateral pay is available based on experience.

Qualifications

• Be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
• Be of good moral character.
• Possess a valid Texas driver’s license within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fires, emergency medical and rescue alarms as part of the Fire Department.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment for fire suppression, prevention and rescue operations.
• Provide education to the public and participate in specialty response teams as assigned.
