Job summary

The City of Georgetown Fire Department is recruiting to establish an eligibility list for the Civil Service position of Firefighter/Paramedic. Duties include responding to fires, emergency medical and rescues; sustaining readiness and equipment; and training as required.

Exams are scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026 and Saturday, October 10, 2026 at the Public Safety Operations Training Center in Georgetown, TX. Applications close October 7, 2026.

Qualifications

• Be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Be a graduate of an accredited high school or have a GED.
• Certified Basic Firefighter with TCFP or licensed Paramedic with DSHS or National Registry.
• Paramedic program enrollment with expected graduation by 12/18/2026 may allow sit eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fires, EMS, rescues, and recovery alarms.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment for fire suppression and rescue.
• Work as part of a team to protect life and property during emergencies.
• Participate in exams, training, and professional development.
