Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Paramedic to deliver advanced emergency medical care under Michigan licensure, aiming to improve patient outcomes through rapid assessment and intervention. The role requires strong EMS leadership and coordination with local agencies.

The ideal candidate holds ACLS and BLS, EMT-P credentials, and a high school diploma or GED; a sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates. Prior field experience is preferred in a medical center or similar setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of emergency medicine as normally acquired through 2 years of emergency education culminating in licensure as an Emergency Medical Services - Paramedic.
• Knowledge of pre-hospital care as normally acquired through 2 years experience working in a Medical Center or similar healthcare setting.
• Hazardous Materials Management.
• Ability to function independently.

Responsibilities

• Acts independently to formulate and initiate a plan of intervention for medical and traumatic emergencies.
• Assesses patients during inter-hospital transfers and intervenes as needed.
• Supervises field medical management of ancillary rescue personnel and coordinating with agencies.
• Drafts a computer report documenting assessment, intervention, and outcome of all patients receiving care.
• Evaluates readiness and safety of emergency equipment and vehicles.
• Cleans and polishes EMS vehicles and EMS stations on a daily basis.
