Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED recognized by the State of California is required.
• Active employment with a California Fire Agency; two years as Firefighter with probation; one year as Firefighter/Paramedic required.
• Completion of a State of California-accredited Fire Academy; CA driver’s license; CA EMT and Paramedic certifications required; several Hazardous Materials certifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies and fire alarms.
• Perform fire control, rescue, ventilation, containment and extinguishment activities.
• Provide basic and advanced life support, including CPR and airway management.
• Administer medications and respond to hazardous materials.
• Lead, mentor and train junior firefighters as applicable.
