Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older at time of application.
• Valid picture ID and driver's license required.
• Proof of graduation (HS diploma or GED) within two weeks of application.
• One year of firefighting experience in a professional/paid fire department.
• Good physical and psychological condition to perform essential job functions.
• Arrests/convictions for felonies or numerous misdemeanors are disqualifying.
• Certifications must be IFSAC and/or Pro Board sealed; proof due within two weeks.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies to extinguish fires and render medical care.
• Work includes forcible entry, ventilation, search and rescue, salvage and overhaul.
• Provide fire safety and emergency response services as required; operate under orders from officers.
• Participate in training to stay current with firefighting and prevention techniques.
• Work in shelters during emergencies and perform public safety duties as needed.
