Job summary

The City of Hollister Fire Department is seeking entry-level Firefighter/EMT candidates through an open-competitive recruitment. The eligible list established from this process will be used to fill future vacancies in Hollister's Fire Department.

Responsibilities include responding to fires and EMS calls, performing search and rescue, providing Basic Life Support, driving apparatus, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• Certification prerequisites: Firefighter I & II, EMT/CPR as required.
• Knowledge of fire suppression, rescue, EMS, and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate fire apparatus and drive to incidents.
• Familiarity with CICCS components.
• Commitment to completing required coursework within probation.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fires, EMS calls, and public service calls as part of a suppression crew.
• Perform primary/secondary search and rescue; evacuate occupants.
• Provide Basic Life Support and scene medical assessments.
• Drive fire apparatus and position for safe access.
• Maintain and operate hydrants, hoses, and equipment.
• Support fire prevention and public education activities.
