Job summary

The Baker City Fire Department is seeking applicants for the position of Firefighter/EMT. A Baker City Firefighter protects life and property by firefighting, emergency medical response, hazardous materials response, and fire prevention activities.

Firefighters will drive and operate fire apparatus, provide emergency aid, and maintain certification status. Schedule is 48/96 with shifts starting at 7:00 a.m., full-time, benefited, local travel specificity, and union representation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Oregon Driver’s License.
• Current DPSST or NFPA Firefighter I certification or higher.
• Current Oregon or NREMT EMT certification or higher.

Responsibilities

• Fight fires and perform emergency medical response according to certification level.
• Hazardous materials response and fire prevention activities.
• Drive and operate fire apparatus and equipment; perform station and equipment maintenance.
• Participate in departmental training and preparedness activities.

Skills
