Job summary

The City of Gresham is hiring Firefighter/EMT Basic and Firefighter/Paramedic to respond to emergency calls, provide fire suppression and emergency medical services, and protect the community.

Recruits join a high-volume, mission-driven team with IAFF representation, ongoing training, and career development. An eligibility list will guide a March 2027 academy and potential vacancies from the list; a generous benefits package supports employees and families.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or GED; fire science coursework preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Emergency Medical Technician: Basic, Intermediate or Paramedic certification.
• CPAT certification valid between Sept 18, 2025 and Nov 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire suppression and emergency medical calls.
• Operate firefighting equipment and vehicles; ensure readiness.
• Participate in ongoing training and career development.
