The City of Bryan is seeking a Firefighter (Certified FF/EMT or FF/Paramedic) to join the Bryan Fire Department. This role begins with on‑the‑job training to learn departmental procedures and techniques for firefighting and EMS as applicable.

Qualified applicants will meet the required certifications, adhere to the posting deadlines, and participate in written exams and physical assessments scheduled in December 2026.

Qualifications

• Citizen by birth or naturalization in the United States.
• Ages 18–40 at hire date.
• Read and write English; meet physical standards.
• Military service with honorable discharge per DD-214, if applicable.
• No felony or relevant misdemeanor history in last 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire alarms and emergency calls.
• Operate hoses, ladders, and rescue tools; perform ventilation.
• Provide EMS within training level; transport to hospital as needed.
• Maintain apparatus, equipment, and stations; participate in drills.
• Attend trainings on hydraulics, pumps, and firefighting techniques.
• Comply with safety, reports, and department directives.
