Job summary

The City of Pendleton Oregon is seeking a Firefighter/Paramedic to join the Pendleton Fire & Ambulance Department. The department provides fire protection, ALS ambulance transport, and rescue services from three stations within a 22-square-mile boundary and a large ambulance service area.

Under general supervision, the position performs emergency response, EMS/ALS duties, equipment maintenance, and participation in prevention and training activities to safeguard lives and property.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; an Associate Degree in Fire Technology or Emergency Medical Services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire and other emergency calls for protection of life, property, and environment.
• Provide emergency medical response and advanced life support (ALS) activities.
• Maintain and operate firefighting, EMS, and station equipment.
• Participate in fire prevention, public education, disaster preparedness, and training.
