Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Firefighter/EMT to support the AUTEC community on Andros Island, Bahamas. You will respond to fires, medical emergencies, and HazMat events, operating fire apparatus and equipment as needed. The role requires readiness to work on a remote site and to obtain/maintain a Secret U.S.

Government Clearance, with U.S. citizenship required for clearance. Responsibilities include conducting fire suppression, rescue, EMS care, equipment maintenance, and routine inspections.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years related experience as Firefighter and EMT.
• Must hold National Registry - EMT Basic or have the ability to obtain after hire.
• Must hold DoD or IFSAC Fire Fighter I and II, ARFF, and HazMat Operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform general structural and aircraft firefighting and rescue duties under supervision.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic pre-hospital care per protocols.
• Respond to Hazardous Materials incidents and perform containment tasks.
• Operate fire apparatus pumps and equipment to meet fire flow demands.
• Flow-test hydrants and sprinkler systems and perform equipment inspections.
• Perform facility fire prevention inspections and related services.

Job description

Amentum is looking for a Firefighter/EMT to join our team on Andros Island, Bahamas. As a Firefighter/EMT, you will be responsible for responding to fires, rescue, and emergency medical needs of the AUTEC Community to include Range User personnel and assets on the AUTEC project. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform general structural and aircraft firefighting and rescue duties and responsibilities through a variety of established techniques and approaches under the supervision of a company officer.
• Respond to medical emergencies and performs basic pre-hospital patient care in accordance with established protocols and standard procedures.
• Respond to Hazardous Materials emergencies and perform offensive and defensive control and containment tasks.
• Respond to water borne POL spills and operate watercraft and deploy boom and other materials to control, contain, and recover spilled product.
• Drive a variety of fire apparatus, ambulances, and related vehicles to emergency and non-emergency incidents in a safe and professional manner.
• Operate fire apparatus pumps and appliances to produce required fire flow demands.
• Perform basic daily operator inspections and maintenance on fire apparatus; clean, wash, and service equipment, inspect, test, and maintain equipment and pumps including but not limited to nozzles, appliances, fittings, fire extinguishers, hand and power tools, ropes, ladders, emergency lighting equipment, generators, rescue and first aid and related equipment.
• Flow-test fire hydrants and fire sprinkler systems, pressure testing of hoses, and weight certification of ladders.
• Perform facility fire prevention inspections and related services as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum five (5) years related experience working as a Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must hold National Registry - EMT Basic certification or have the ability to obtain after hire.
• Must have DoD or IFSAC Fire Fighter I and II, ARFF, and HazMat Operations.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds of material or equipment.
• Must be able to work in confined and/or smoke-filled spaces.
• Must be able to wear Self Contained Breathing Apparatus.
• Participates in daily physical fitness training per DoW requirement and must take and pass company physical and recurrent physical annually.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.
• Valid Driver's License and passport are required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• DoD Airport Firefighter.
• NREMT Paramedic preferred.
