Job summary

Laurens County Government seeks an experienced firefighter to join its emergency services team. You will operate advanced fire apparatus, lead volunteer crews, and ensure readiness for any incident.

You will drive emergency scenes, coordinate suppression and rescue operations, and participate in fire prevention and detector installation for residents, including supporting elderly and disabled communities.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 2–3 years in fire service or training, or equivalent.
• Licenses: Firefighter 1, Hazmat Ops, Pump Ops 1, EVDT, or equivalent; valid SC Driver's License.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate fire apparatus at emergency scenes and take command when needed.
• Perform fire suppression, Hazmat response, and rescue operations.
• Maintain readiness of stations and equipment; inspect rescue tools and hydrants.
• Participate in fire prevention and safety education; inspect facilities and install detectors.
