The ideal candidate will hold AZPOST firearms and rifle instructor certifications, plus armorer certifications (Glock, AR-15, Remington 870, 40mm launcher, pepper ball).

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Four years paid full-time law enforcement experience, including two years as firearms instructor or range instructor.
  • AZPOST firearms instructor certification and AZPOST rifle instructor certification or equivalents.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee safe operation of police firearms range and enforce range safety procedures.
  • Plan, coordinate, and administer firearms training and qualifications for sworn personnel.
  • Serve as lead firearms instructor and SME for firearms safety and marksmanship.
  • Schedule training, ensure certifications are current, and coordinate curriculum updates.
  • Maintain training, qualification, and equipment records and logs.
  • Evaluate proficiency and provide remedial training; communicate concerns to supervision.
