Job summary

Pima County Parks & Recreation is seeking a proactive Shooting Sports Supervisor to oversee firearm and archery range operations across multiple facilities. The role leads staff, manages inventory and budgets, and ensures safe, compliant operations for public users.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree with extensive firearms experience, supervisory skills, and relevant NRA certifications. Work includes rotating shifts, days/evenings/weekends/holidays, at several park ranges in the Tucson

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university AND five years working with firearms and experience administering organizational or public funds INCLUDING three years of supervisory experience.
• (Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)
• Three years with Pima County in a Shooting Sports Coordinator or related position as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.
• Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the Education and Work Experience sections of the application.

Responsibilities

• Oversees operations at multiple range sites and facilities.
• Schedules, supervises, mentors and disciplines staff and volunteers.
• Manages program logistics including firearms and ammunition inventory and equipment.
• Ensures expenses conform to budget and handles procurement.
• Maintains records and timecards; drafts and updates policies.
• Performs on-duty manager functions during public operations.
