Job summary

The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office seeks a Firearms Verified Instructor Program Coordinator to manage the instructor program, process Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) and Firearms Safety Course Eligibility Card (FSCEC) applications, and maintain accurate records. This full-time role is based at Centennial, CO, with strict CJIS guidelines.

The position handles notary services, fingerprints, data entry, and public communications, with occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED or equivalent.
• Three years of public contact and administrative support experience.
• CJIS compliance understanding and confidentiality awareness.

Responsibilities

• Receives and reviews instructor applications for completeness and compliance with guidelines.
• Makes decisions on instructor approvals, denials, suspensions and revocations.
• Issues instructor certificates and maintains records.
• Audits the Verified Instructor Program monthly and yearly as needed.
• Handles CHP and FSCEC applications and communicates with the public.
