Northwest Shoals Community College is seeking a Fire Watch Attendant to maintain continuous surveillance of campus areas, identify fire hazards, and respond to emergencies under the direction of the Facilities Department.
The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred experience as a fire watch or safety monitor, and knowledge of fire extinguisher use. Salary is set by the Alabama Community College System; applications due by Sept 18, 2026.
The Fire Watch Attendant is responsible for maintaining continuous surveillance of designated campus areas to identify and respond to potential fire hazards. This position helps ensure the safety of students, employees, visitors, and college property by monitoring work areas, enforcing fire safety protocols, documenting observations, and reporting unsafe conditions. The Fire Watch Attendant works under the direction of the Facilities Department and responds appropriately to emergency situations in accordance with established procedures.

SALARY: Compensation is in accordance with the Alabama Community College System’s Salary Schedule H35, Rank 16 ($26,292 - $34,346).
