Job summary

San Bernardino County Fire is seeking a Vehicle Services Manager to lead the planning, administration and operation of the County Fire Protection District's Vehicle Services Division. The role involves directing daily operations, supervising staff, and handling procurement, inspection, maintenance, repair, modification, fabrication and disposal of vehicles and equipment.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of full-scope supervisory experience over staff in a Fleet or Vehicle Services Division, including budgeting, RFPs, contracts, grants, and purchase orders.
• License: CA Class C driver license (or higher).
• Experience in a fire agency is highly desired and a strong background in vehicle services management; candidates should show organizational and leadership skills.
• Ideal candidates will have an Associate's degree or higher in Organizational Management, Business or Public Administration, and certifications such as ASE/CFSTES; CA Class B or higher license may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, administer and operate the Vehicle Services Division for the Fire Protection District.
• Manage division staff through subordinate supervisors and direct day-to-day operations.
• Oversee procurement, inspection, assignment, maintenance, repair, modification, fabrication and disposal of vehicles, equipment and apparatus.
• Manage the division budget and financial operations.
• Coordinate with other departments and agencies to ensure reliable vehicle services for emergency response.
